30 years after the adoption of the Charter: Accelerate the implementation of Agenda 2040 for an Africa fit for children

Women’s Consortium of Nigeria recently organised a community outreach to sensitise Iwaya women against sexual and gender-based violence.
To raise awareness on the endemic nature of violence against women and girls: rape, teenage pregnancy, incest, early marriage and forced marriage.
To sensitise about the facts and myths of human trafficking and the control tactics.
From the 1800s to the early 1900's, women activists fought hard for equality. Today, some of the issues then remain key priorities today, even over a century later.

We celebrate a rare gem, Mrs Adebanke Akinrinmisi of @cewhin who worked to strengthen transparency and constructive engagement in communities. Her efforts birthed the formation of @TandAnetwork Ogun Rest on Ma! #choosetochallenge #IWD2021

WOCON has been engaged in various programs and activities for the enforcement of the rights of women and children particularly the Girl-child in Nigeria since its inception in 1995. We are also strong advocates for the entrenchment of sustainable democracy and good governance in our country.
